Favorite Phoenix Yoga Studios

My list of favorite Phoenix yoga studios was much shorter when I moved to Arizona ten years ago. Now, with yoga's increasing popularity, it seems like there is a new yoga studio in Phoenix and/or Scottsdale every time I turn around.

Are you looking for a Phoenix yoga studio to call your favorite? You may want to take a look at a few of mine.

Favorite Phoenix Yoga Studios

  • A Desert Song Yoga and Massage
This wonderful yoga and massage studio in Phoenix is located in the heart of the city (7th Street just south of Camelback) and is celebrating its 25th year, making it the oldest yoga studio in the valley.

In addition to a wonderful array of yoga classes, this is the perfect place to indulge in a soothing massage.

They offer Introduction to Yoga series several times each month, as well as gentle and all levels classes.

Try a gentle yoga class with Kelly Knapp or an all levels class with Marybeth Markus, the owner and on of the best yoga teachers anywhere.

  • At One Yoga
At One Yoga was the first Phoenix yoga studio I discovered when I moved here a decade ago. Since then it has grown to be one of the most popular yoga studios in the valley with locations in both Phoenix and Scottsdale.

At One Yoga Phoenix is conveniently located at 32nd Street and Lincoln.

While the majority of classes - vinyasa flow, power, ashtanga - are geared toward young, athletic types, there are several classes perfect for beginners.

Give the Introduction to Yoga series a try or check out a Gentle Yoga class with Cathy Genzler. if you want to try something a little different, Kat Puralewski-Myers offers combination Basics Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling classes several times a week. It's yoga, rolfing, and massage in one!

  • Arizona Yoga
AZYoga is a little Anusara-affiliated yoga studio in South Scottsdale (2334 N. Scottsdale Road #126), offering several classes each day.

If you are a beginner, their Groundwork, Fundamentals, and Gentle/Restorative classes would all be appropriate.

  • Yoga Village
Yoga Village is the yoga studio in Scottsadale where I attended yoga teacher training with Jordan and Martin Kirk. Tucked away in the Scottsdale Air Park (8241 E. Evans Road, D103) it's worth seeking out.

In addition to a monthly introduction to yoga series, to get you oriented, Yoga Village offers gentle and basics classes each week.

More Favorite Phoenix and Scottsdale Yoga Studios

Phoenix and Scottsdale provide a wide variety of opportunities for those who want to practice yoga in a studio. Although I have no personal experience with them, any of these studios may offer exactly what you are looking for:
